Incognito

Book two of the Law and Crime Series

**Blurb**

Angela Ellis-Torres is fed up with her absent husband. They were married on Christmas Eve, in Puerto Rico after drinking too much during vacation. No one in their family is aware of their marriage. Seven years later, she is ready to move on with her life without him.

Romero (Rome) Torres’s undercover assignment forced him to hide their marriage in order to protect his wife. After seven years, he is still an undercover DEA agent about to bust the biggest drug lord to distribute cocaine and crack in New York City. Angela is a firecracker he can’t handle right now, but she is fed up with being married to his undercover sting.

Can Romero nab his man and hold onto the woman he loves before she files for divorce?

**Excerpt**

“Wife,” Angela laughed. She laughed so hard she doubled over, and tears slid down her cheeks. “My attorney is ready to serve you with divorce papers, Rome, on the grounds of desertion. Your wife doesn’t live here, anymore!”

“I see you have jokes, tonight, Querida.”

“Get out of my bed!” She hissed. “Go back to Mama, Maria. You slept there last night. Why bother to show up here, tonight.”

“You know I’m on assignment. I wasn’t really going to show up today, but my mother has been paging me for months. I didn’t want to disappoint her after missing Chloe’s wedding.”

“Hell, don’t disappoint Maria, but what about me, Rome! I’m only your neglected wife.”

Rome’s beeper began dancing across the nightstand. Pissed off by the interruption, Angela’s eyes darted over to the beeper, and she wanted to toss it out the window.
Earlier that evening, Rome set the pager to vibrate, and told his partner, Wesley Alston, to contact him only if it was important. Grabbing the pager before Angela got hold of it, he glanced down at it, and found he had three texts waiting. He scrolled down his messages, and found that they were all from Wes. It was urgent that he call him, they said.

“Angela, I have to answer this.”

“If you make that damn call, our marriage is over, Romero! My lawyer will serve the papers.”

“I’m sorry, Querida.”

“That has become so old, Rome!”

Enraged, Angela bolted off the bed and entered the bathroom. She slammed the door to make her point. She was so pissed off with Romero that she could’ve shot him. His scent was all over her, and right then, she wanted it off. They’d been married for seven years, and none of their families and friends was aware of it. A two-week vacation in Puerto Rico with Rome, and one too many Tequilas; led to her becoming Mrs. Romero-Torres on Christmas Eve.

That was during the happy days; but Rome’s love for living on the edge and his being an undercover DEA officer were starting to wear thin. They had never lived as a married couple. Whenever he got a chance, he would slip over to see her, or he would call her and they’d meet at a hidden location—always cautious of their surroundings. This last assignment has been going on for much too long.

“I can’t live this way any longer!” Angela screamed inside of the shower. Her frustration had built to a flashpoint.

She wanted a full-time husband, not a secret one. She wanted what Chloe had: a husband who came home every night, slept in their bed. If Rome couldn’t decide, she would finish it. She deserved better, and she wanted it all!

Another Chance

Law and Crime Series, Book 1

She Always Has To Be In Control!

Chloe Torres, the youngest senior editor for Phenomenal Woman Magazine, has it all. She’s stunning with her brown-sugar, satiny skin and smoky-gray eyes. She’s independent and smart. Life seems perfect for her until she bumps into the very one man she can’t forget.

Not This Time!

Corporate Lawyer Trevor Peyton Ellis returns to New York City to be closer to his family. He’s now divorced and is a single father to his son, Peyton. He can’t get the gray-eyed, brown-sugar beauty from his past out of his head. A chance meeting and one dinner date leads to old desires.

Can Trevor overcome his anger from past betrayal? Will Chloe be strong enough to hold onto to his love and ease the hurt?

**Excerpt**

“Can you carry my overnight bag, Trevor? I’m spending the night with Ileana. You remember Ileana Douglas, my best friend?”

“Yes, I remember Ileana. The two of you were inseparable in high school,” he recalled.

“You want me to drop you over to Ileana’s house after our date?” Trevor was surprised by her request.

“If you want,” she cooed.

Her eyes caressed his face, and her tongue swept over her Brown Sugar lip gloss, enticing him further.

Trevor swept his fingers through his short crew cut, frustrated. He wanted to take Chloe into his arms and kiss her until she climaxed under his body. Instead, he nudged her out the front door, and opened the passenger door to his black Lexus. Once he secured the seatbelt over Chloe, he placed her overnight bag in the trunk.
Trevor’s eyes roamed over Chloe’s legs the moment he slipped into the driver’s seat and started the engine. Desire for her twisted his gut, and added to his ache. The tightening in his pants made it impossible to sit.

“I need to check the trunk again, Chloe,” he mumbled. He bolted out of the car and reopened the trunk—pretending that he was looking for something. He needed a few seconds to calm himself. His erection was rock-hard, and he needed to cum between Chloe’s sweet thighs.

Chloe knew exactly what she was doing when she crossed her legs in that red dress. Trevor’s eyes smoldered when his eyes slid back to her face.

Oh yeah, he still wants me. Before this night is over, I plan to have every inch of him, she thought.

In My Sister's Footsteps

Rachine’s desire for her sister’s husband pushes her to do the unimaginable.

Art curator, Rachine Forster, has a vibrate personality and men are drawn to her, but there’s only one man she wants. It’s a known fact that everything her identical, twin sister Rachel has, she wants including her fine-ass husband, Sheldon Lee!

**Excerpt**

“It’s about damn time you showed up for our birthday celebration,” I snorted. “I’ve been sitting here for over an hour!”
“Sorry Rach, the time got away from me. Edward and Brandy wanted to give me their presents. Then, I had to tuck them into bed and Sheldon—”
“I don’t want to hear about your damn family!” I spat. “What about us? Don’t I count, anymore?”
“How much have you had to drink, Rachine?”
I let out an embarrassing loud belch.
“Excuse me, I’m celebrating our birthday,” I declared, finishing off my second drink. “Where’s that fine, dark chocolate waiter? I need another drink?”
“You’re drunk, Rachine!”
I snapped my fingers to get the waiter’s attention.
“I’m feeling mighty damn good,” I slurred. I sat straight up because my dress revealed a little too much cleavage—even for me.
“We need to order dinner, before you embarrass yourself,” Rachel said in that superior tone of voice she had—so much like our mother.
I wasn’t hungry, but to shut Rachel up, I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, and another drink. She ordered lasagna and garlic bread, with an Apple Martini.
The waiter—tall, dark-chocolate, and equipped with a buffed body—took our order. He was sumptuous, and totally to my liking, I thought.
Turning thirty was messing with my head, so I had to know if I was still desirable in a man’s eyes. I couldn’t resist palming his tight buns when he walked away with our dinner order.
He turned and winked at me.
“Rachine! What are you doing?” Rachel asked, looking shocked and ashamed.
“What?” I answered back, looking completely innocent.
“You touched his buttocks,” Rachel chastised.
“Hey, you have a husband at home. I’ve got to find mine, from somewhere.”
“What happened to Kenneth?” She asked, after taking a sip from her Apple Martini.
The same waiter returned and placed our drinks on the table. On the low, he slipped me his digits on a napkin.
“Richard Lawson. Maybe, I’ll give him a call,” I said, tucking away his name and number inside of my handbag in case of a sexual emergency.
“He’s too young for you, Rachine!”
“Haven’t you heard? That means he’ll make a great lover, and he’ll keep me in shape.”
“You haven’t answered my question about Kenneth?”
“He left me—like all the others.”
“You mean you drove him away, too? When will you learn?”
“Shut up, Rachel! I don’t feel like another lecture from you. One mother was more than enough.”
“That’s your problem! You’re a selfish bitch, and everything has to be your way! In my opinion, Kenneth was too damn good for you. You’ll never find someone to love you,” Rachel fired back.
“You don’t know anything!” I retorted.
“As bitchy as you are, no wonder you can’t keep a man. Mother was right! You have too many of our father’s arrogant ways.”
“Who the hell do you think you are? Mother has no say about my life! She should look at her own love life, and then she can talk!” My temper was at flashpoint.
How dare Rachel and Mother discuss my life!
“I don’t need this mess, Rachine! I left my husband, my children, and sat thirty minutes in traffic to subject myself to you! Why don’t you celebrate our birthday all by your damn self.”
She grabbed her purse and ran toward the restaurant’s front door.
“I’m not a bitch, you are! I hollered back. “Go on back to your husband; I don’t need you, either!”

A woman has her needs…

After seventeen years of marriage and two kids, Yvette Reardon wakes up to the fact that she doesn’t love her husband anymore. Their lovemaking has trickled down to a kiss on her cheek, each night. The romance is nonexistent, and their marriage is hanging on a thread, because of the kids.

Former pro basketball player, Darnell Woods, returns to New York City to be near his ailing mother, and to capture the love he left behind. Yvette is the woman who got away. Although she is married, the sparks between them is still there. She is living a double life with her secret lover, meeting Darnell three times a week, she returns home feeling trapped by her past mistakes.

Will Yvette follow her heart or remain in a loveless marriage?

**Excerpt**

Monday morning, I sat at my desk at Merrill Enterprise Payroll Department with a stack of new hires to input into the computer. The sudden shrill of the telephone startled me. The caller ID panel lit up as bright as the smile on my face when I snatched the telephone off the cradle by the third ring.

“How’s my girl?” Darnell Woods’ deep, sexy voice crooned in my ears, sliding down my body like liquid butter. My thong moistened with the sound of just those three simple words.

“I’m great now that I’m talking to you,” I whispered into the telephone and looked around me to make sure no one was playing attention. I was sure my cheeks flushed and guilt was on my face.

“I need to see you. Can you get off early?”

I had had enough of Lamont’s neglect. Today, I was ready to follow my heart. My sister, Renee, gave me the 4-1-1 on Darnell’s life. He was divorced now, and had returned to New York City over four months ago because of his ailing mother. Mrs. Woods had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. For the moment, she was doing reasonably well after the removing of her organs and the follow-up chemo treatments. The cancer hadn’t spread to the other organs. Renee passed on my telephone numbers to Darnell because she knew how miserable I’d been for the past three years. I resisted the temptation—until now…
